Dr. Tamio Arai, IRID Vice President, Delivers Lecture at the Robotics Society of Japan Open Forum
(September 11, 2017)

IRID Vice President Dr. Tamio Arai (Fellow of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ)) delivered a lecture at the 35th Annual Conference of the RSJ, which was held at the Kawagoe Campus of Toyo University on September 11-14, 2017. The conference featured a public lecture, “The Open Forum; Cooperation with the RSJ and its Tasks for the Decommissioning,” during which Dr. Arai discussed “Robotic Technology’s Role in Decommissioning and Expectation from Academics.”

The lecture included the function of IRID, the status and results of research and development (R&D) for the decommissioning, as well as related technical issues (requirements), such as the differences and difficulties in the development of general robotic technologies. At the end of the lecture, he emphasized the need for cooperation with the RSJ and the expected role of the academic community, which is necessary for simulation and design, both of which are essential to the promotion of decommissioning technology.

IRID is committed to promoting positive cooperation between colleges, universities, and research institutes through various lectures, including delivery on demand.
