Booth Display at the Robot & Aerospace Festa Fukushima 2020: Introduction of R&D and Technology for the Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station
(November 27 and 28, 2020)

The Robot & Aerospace Festa Fukushima 2020 was held on November 27 and 28, 2020. The International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) hosted an exhibition booth to introduce our research and technology.

This exhibition was held in accordance with guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19 infection. Despite the registration restrictions, the Robot & Aerospace Festa was attended by approximately 3000 people over the two days, including dedicated fans and families (the number of visitors was announced on the website of the organizer, Fukushima Prefecture). We appreciate the fact that many people visited the IRID booth.

The IRID booth featured panel exhibitions on the status of research and development being conducted by IRID for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS) and videos of the robot arm currently being developed in the U.K. as well as the submersible investigation robot. These exhibitions attracted interest from many visitors.

In addition, booklets that were issued by the Agency of Natural Resources Energy, The Important Stories on Decommissioning 2020, were distributed among visitors to promote a better understanding of the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
