Lecture at the 6th Japan Atomic Industrial Forum Seminar by Naoaki Okuzumi, Senior Manager of Planning and Administration Department (August 9, 2023)
The Atomic Industrial Forum (JAIF) Inc. held the 6th JAIF Seminar for the membership on August 9, 2023, which was online seminar organized by JAIF. At the seminar, Mr. Naoaki Okuzumi, Senior Manager of the Planning and Administration, the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID), gave a presentation on the status of research and development for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS).
In his presentation, he talked about technological development for fuel debris retrieval and investigation of the primary containment vessel interiors of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS which IRID has been conducting. This online seminar was attended by about 140 memberships from various companies and organizations including nuclear manufacturers and general constructors.
There was an opportunity for the audience to ask questions after the presentation. Many audiences asked various questions about the presentation, which shows the audience was highly interested in the topic.
IRID will continue to provide the information of the technological development regarding the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS through lectures.
