Lecture by Naoaki Okuzumi, Senior Manager of Planning and Administration Department at the 2024 Fall Meeting of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (September 13, 2024)

The Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) organized the 2024 Fall Meeting which was held at Kawauchi Kita Campus, Tohoku University on September 13, 2024. As part of Decommissioning Review Committee for the Development of robot technology that contributes to the decommissioning of the 1F NPS, Naoaki Okuzumi, Senior Manager of the Planning and Administration, the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID), delivered a lecture titled “Robotics development of IRID for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS”.

At the lecture, he introduced robots for investigation inside the primary containment vessel conducted by IRID until now and status of robots development for fuel debris retrieval.

IRID will promote providing information on results of technological development for the decommissioning through these lectures.
