Visit to IRID by Students from McMaster University, Canada (May 12-16, 2014)

A total of six staff and students from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, visited Japan between May 12-16.

In addition to visiting the IRID office, the group traveled to JAEA Tokai, TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, and the University of Tokyo, Japan Nuclear Fuel, Ltd. with the Canadian embassy staff.

The visit was organized by former University of Tokyo professor Dr. Shinya Nagasaki (who is now a professor at McMaster) in order to promote exchanges between Canada and Japan in the nuclear field.

McMaster currently has around 24,000 students enrolled, and is a university traditionally considered as one of the leaders in medical and engineering studies.
