Naoaki Okuzumi, the senior manager of IRID’s R&D Strategy Planning Department, delivered a lecture entitled “Current status of technology development for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS)” at the Member Meeting of The Japan Machinery Federation, held at the Kikai Shinko Kaikan (located in Minato-ku, Tokyo) on November 30, 2018.

In the lecture, he described an overview of IRID, the investigation inside the primary containment vessel (PCV), and the status of research and development (R&D) for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS.

The meeting was attended by approximately 80 people.

IRID continues to provide opportunities for introducing R&D broadly, with the aim of decommissioning the Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
